A member of the Davidson Garden Club, Robin Wilgus has painted original gardenscapes for the Davidson Horticultural Symposium for the last 25 years! Her elegant watercolors adorn our brochures and notecards, as her imaginative artwork is a clever rendering of the year’s Symposium theme.
Robin grew up in Madison, New Jersey and studied fashion illustration at the Fashion Institute and also at the Art Students League in New York City. She went on to have a long career as a fashion illustrator and worked with Epstein’s in New Jersey, Jordan Marsh in Boston, the Hecht Company in Washington, D.C. as well as Robinson’s in St. Petersburg, Florida.
More recently she worked with textile companies in North Carolina and has done freelance illustration. Her artistic talent extends to folk art and the unique crafting of home decor.
We are extremely grateful and lucky to have such a talented member of our garden club willing to contribute her beautiful work to our symposium.
Stay tuned! Please check back to see who will be the visiting artist at this year’s symposium.
